A Celebration of Life honoring the legacy of Mr. Henry Hill, Jr. was held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Jones Grove Baptist Church: 568 New Phoenix Rd NE, Eatonton, GA 31024.
Committal took place at East Eatonton Cemetery: 124 Hogan Blvd, Eatonton, GA 31024, followed by the Repast at the old Senior Building off Hwy 44/16 (going toward the hospital).
A time to be born, and a time to die: Mr. Henry Hill, Jr. (age 91) was born July 24th, 1932, in Eatonton, GA to the parentage of the late Jim Henry Hill and the late Carrie P. Hill. On Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, God called him home to be at rest. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Henry Hill & Carrie P. Hill; two sons, Mr. Larry Hill and Mr. Henry Hill III; one brother, Mr. Eugene Hill; and one sister, Ms. Jo Cora Scott.
A time to be spiritually born: Henry joined Crossroads A.M.E. Church at an early age, and he rededicated his life to Christ in the early 2000s.
A time to learn: Henry attended school in Putnam County Eatonton GA.
A time to sow: Henry was a selfless person with a generous heart filled with the love of God; he sowed that love within him to anyone in need, whether it was providing someone shelter from the cold or offering food to a weary soul. He always treated his friends & family with the utmost respect, and for this, everyone who knew him loved and respected him dearly in return. Henry loved hunting, gardening, and fishing. He was a great fisherman, and a great singer too.
A time to say goodbye: To cherish his memories Henry leaves behind one daughter, Ms. Carolyn Cox of Covington, GA; one stepson, Mr. Lorenzo Hill of Covington, GA; one sister, Ms. Mildred Moss of Monroe, GA; one brother, Mr. Arthur Hill of Eatonton, GA; six granddaughters, Ms. Arriva Cox, Ms. Christie Stephens, Ms. Shawanna Thorton, Mrs. Patina (Charles) Middleton, Mrs. Patrice (Don) Divinity, and Ms. Amber Fedon; two grandsons, Mr. Larry Stephens, Jr. and Mr. Lorenzo Hill, Jr., both of Covington, GA; thirteen great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
