Frances Farley

On October 30, 2019, Mrs. Frances Williams Farley, age 63, was called home to her final rest; a beautiful homegoing stage was set in her honor on the afternoon of Friday, November 5, 2019 at Zion Covenant Fellowship Church.  The theme of the celebration was, “When You Hear About My Homegoing, Don’t Worry About Me.” The atmosphere was just as warm as the honoree, complete with a musical accompaniment and Heavenly vocals provided by the Zion Covenant Choir. Words of comfort came from Pastor Frederick Lowe, assisted by Ministers Deck and Vanessa Jackson.

On Nov 1 of 1955, Silas and Ossie Mae Williams welcomed a beautiful baby girl into this world.  Frances Farley was born and raised Eatonton, GA, where she attended Butler Baker School for her primary and secondary education. Upon graduation from Butler Baker, Frances began doing the good work of her calling almost immediately; being such a caring soul, she took a position working at Eatonton Health Care. Francis took a deep pride in her job, providing loyal and unwavering attention and assistance to the elderly patients there. She was truly amazing in this role, and she thoroughly enjoyed her thirty-plus years of service to those in need until her health failed her in 2003.

Outside of her caring and nurturing disposition, Frances also had another well-known hobby: she was gifted with a voice like one of God’s very angels descended from on High. She exercised this gift beautifully and as often as possible, and at one point she was even selected to sing with the world-renowned Aretha Franklin . . . live on the hit TV show Showtime at the Apollo, no less! In addition to this, Frances loved her family dearly and spent as much time with them as she could. Her other favorite pastimes included going to church, playing games on her phone, and watching Law and Order--one of her favorite shows. Last but not least and true to her nature, Frances most of all enjoyed taking care of her grandson.

Mrs. Frances Farley is preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie “June Bug” Farley, and two siblings: Mattie Louise Mathis and Marion Williams.
Frances leaves to mourn her one daughter, Jacqueia Farley of Eatonton, GA; one son, Devon (Linda) Farley of Eatonton, GA; one grandson, Avyion Farley; five grandchildren, Renia, Roger, Jaycei, Price, and Kaleb; a host of other relatives and friends, as well as several children that she took in as her own, bless her loving heart.

Hurt’s Funeral Home of Eatonton was in charge of final arrangement.
